From October 22 to November 10, 2018, specialists of Incontrol LLC carried out works on the implementation and adjustment of algorithms for automatic load control of power unit No. 3 of Aksu GRES of Eurasian Energy Corporation JSC (Kazakhstan).

In the course of work, the algorithms of the unit power control system were adjusted according to the SAUM-2 scheme, as well as the main automatic control systems were adjusted in order to increase the maneuverability and reliability of the equipment. Automatic control systems have been tested in various modes, including start-up from different conditions, emergency shutdowns of the steam turbine with different loads, etc. The SAUM-2 mode, in which the power control function of the power unit is assigned to the turbine power governor, and the function of maintaining steam pressure upstream of the turbine is assigned to the boiler pressure regulator allows to maintain a given electrical load and ensures its smooth change in accordance with the task in the entire control range.

Preliminary tests have shown the possibility of participation of the power unit in the rated primary frequency and power control.

Power unit 3 of Aksu GRES is a coal-fired steam power unit with a capacity of 300 MW, consisting of a PK-39-2 straight-through double-furnace boiler manufactured by Podolsk Machine-Building Plant OJSC (ZiO) and a K-325-23.5 turbine manufactured by Turboatom scientific-production association (Kharkov, Ukraine). TPTS-52 was used as a I&C distributed control system.
