From May 22 to May 25, 2019, in the Kaliningrad region, unique field tests were successfully completed to confirm the ability of the new power units of the Mayakovskaya, Talakhovskaya and Pregolskaya TPPs to provide automatic frequency control under operating conditions of the generating equipment in the isolated power system of the Kaliningrad region. In accordance with the test program for more than 72 hours, the power system of the Kaliningrad region operated in an isolated mode, and the astatic frequency control was carried out alternately at Mayakovskaya, Talakhovskaya and Pregolskaya TPPs.
For astatic frequency control at new stations, the automatic load-frequency control systems (ALFCS), in addition to the standard power maintenance mode with frequency correction, can operate in a mode of direct astatic (without control error) frequency control. Improved ALFCS circuits were developed, implemented and put into operation with the direct participation of employees of Incontrol LLC, who also provided support for four TPPs of the Kaliningrad region (Mayakovskaya TPP, Talakhovskaya TPP, Pregolskaya TPP and Kaliningrad TPP-2) during field tests.
Mayakovskaya, Talakhovskaya and Pregolskaya TPPs are new power plants in the Kaliningrad region, which have recently been commissioned to increase the energy security of the region. Specialists of Incontrol LLC took part in all stages of the creation of I&C systems for these power plants.
